IGLA+ is an organization dedicated to the development and promotion of swimming, water polo, diving, and artistic swimming within the 2SLGBTQ+ community and among allies. Founded in 1987, the organization was created to meet the needs of the LGBTQ+ community for inclusive sports, in the wake of the Gay Games. It is the only international organization for 2SLGBTQ+ inclusion in aquatic sports.
The IGLA+ championships take place every year (except in Gay Games years) and bring together aquatic sports teams from around the world for a celebration.
In 2027, IGLA+ will celebrate its 40th anniversary. It is an honour for Montréal to be the host city for this milestone, and we are planning additional programming to mark this important anniversary.
